Sometimes it’s hard to talk about mental illness. Knowing what to say or how to say it isn’t obvious. On January 26th, the nation brings mental health to the forefront of conversations through Bell Let's Talk Day. In honour of this day, we commit to bringing forward the understanding of the complex mental health challenges we are facing during the pandemic.
To do this we are partnering with Nicole Schiener, award-winning Registered Psychotherapist, Published Author, Social Justice Advocate and Leadership Waterloo Region Class of 2016 Alumna to host a free and open to the public lunch' n' learn. Nicole provided individual, group counselling and supervision at a local non-profit mental health agency for nearly 20 years, and sat on numerous Regional Committees. Nicole’s been featured in local media and has presented locally and at provincial and national conferences.
Her virtual private practice and consulting business “Peace and Possibility” launched in the fall of 2021 provides customized trauma-informed mental health and wellness presentations to organizations and online sessions across Ontario as well as walking sessions along the Grand River, with a focus on supporting new and working mothers to prevent or recover from burn out and thrive.
