Leadership Waterloo Region Class of 2009

I was introduced to the Leadership Waterloo Region as a personal development opportunity through my employer. Through this program I was given an opportunity to learn about the various non-profits in Waterloo Region, participate in challenging group discussions about our community and meet individuals that were all working towards making Waterloo Region a better place to live, work and play.

Leadership Waterloo Region has enriched my life in many different ways. I formed lasting friendships and became more actively involved in volunteering; in particular with the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank’s Board of Directors and Fundraising Committee. I even worked in the non-profit sector as a member of the Junior Achievement of Waterloo Region staff. All of this started with Leadership Waterloo Region.

Aside from personally benefitting from the program, I truly believe that Leadership Waterloo Region is making a difference in our community.
